Magnetic effect of electric current

Due to passing of electric current through a conductor magnetic field generate around it this effect is called magnetic effect of current. Magnet a magnet is that substance which attracts ferromagnetic elements like iron Cobalt and nickel. When a bar magnet suspended freely from a thread its direction become North and South because Earth is also a huge magnet. Oersted experiment first of all in 1820 Christian oersted proved it by an experiment that when an electric current passing through a conductor it deflect compass needle perpendicular to the conductor  this experiment had proved that a current carrying conductor also produce magnetic field whose position is perpendicular to the the direction of flow of electric current. The force produced by magnetic field has both magnitude and direction and therefore it is a vector quantity and noted by B            Hans Christian oersted Magnetic field:  The area around a magnet where a magnetic force is experienced is called the magnetic field
